Fresh tuna steak is one of the healthiest foods around. It is full of lean protein, omega 3 fatty acids, riboflavin, folate, vitamin K, vitamin B-12 and vitamin A, zinc, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and iron. Cooked lean on a stone, there is very little fat in the dish at all!

Tuna steak on a stone is a lean alternative to steak that works for pescatarians or those who just want something other than red meat. It’s a healthy alternative to many dishes served in restaurants and complements our other healthy lean meats and low fat alternatives.
A 100g piece of fresh tuna steak has around 25g of lean protein, 2.1g of omega 3 including both DHA and EPA, around 40% of an adult’s niacin requirement, 13% of our vitamin D as well as healthy amounts of riboflavin, folate, vitamin K, vitamin B-12, vitamin A and other minerals.
That same 100g tuna steak will also have around 10% of an adult’s daily requirement of zinc and 8% of magnesium. Both essential minerals for body function. It also has potassium which is linked to reducing blood pressure, selenium and manganese, all of which benefit your immune system and general wellbeing.

With a range of side dishes available that complement the tuna steak, including seasonal vegetables, Mediterranean vegetables, side salad and sweet potato fries, you can still indulge yourself without overdoing the calories!
