Thanks to a thriving delivery and collection service and our superb team of staff, The Stone Grill has remained open throughout and will continue to do so.
We have been fortunate to have had very high standards of hygiene from the moment we opened, long before coronavirus. That insistence on cleanliness and the buy-in from our team has meant minimal training and effort was required to meet government guidelines and the Food Standard Agency’s (FSA) guidance on good hygiene practices.
How we keep you safe during coronavirus
There are some specific measures The Stone Grill has taken to ensure the cleanliness of our kitchen, safety of our staff and the safety of all our customers.
Good hygiene practices
The regular washing of hands has always been a part of restaurants but it has taken on a life of its own. All staff wash their hands regularly, using food safe sanitizer and clean towels.
All surfaces are cleaned regularly using food safe sanitizer. All equipment, containers, and kitchen items are also cleaned at high temperature using food safe cleaning products.
Staff and handling
All staff wear gloves, including our chefs. All wear masks and use the above hygiene practices. All pans, trays, surfaces, utensils and equipment are changed and cleaned between each dish we prepare and we have streamlined our practices to ensure minimal handling.
Staff now handle an individual dish as much as possible. Where chefs would prepare elements of a dish and combine before serving, wherever possible the same chef prepares all elements of an individual dish to minimise the risk of cross contamination.
Delivery and collection
Food delivery uses single use containers. Food is loaded into the container by the chef and sealed. Delivery staff pack containers into delivery bags and deliver to its destination.
Delivery is contactless. Payment is taken over the phone. We deliver the food to your doorstep, ring the bell and step back 2 metres. We check you are there to collect your food following social distancing rules.
Collection is prepared in the same way. The chef places food into the container and provided to customers collecting food using social distancing rules.
We ensure minimal interaction between staff members, minimal handling of food or containers and take every precaution possible to keep us and our customers safe.
