Things are looking up and England is working its way slowly towards reopening. The March 12th step went better than many thought it would, so here’s hoping the May step works just as well. We can’t wait to see you all again!
If you’re worried about venturing out to The Stone Grill, there’s no need to be. We will be taking every precaution to protect our staff and diners while delivering the same experience we always have.
Those steps include:
Knowing and planning for all local and national guidelines – Know exactly what we can and cannot do is at the heart of preparing for reopening. We are continuously monitoring national and Blackpool news for updates and changes to the steps and reopening guidelines.
Developing processes to keep the restaurant clean – Our standards of cleanliness have always been high but we have gone to great lengths to ensure everything is as hygienically clean as possible. That includes the restaurants, the kitchen, bathrooms and any areas where people go.
Enforcing strict distancing and hand washing practices – We have established a simple but very effective policy of constant hand washing, distanced food preparation and serving to protect our staff as well as diners.
High levels of vigilance – Staff are being trained to watch for distancing and to watch each other for hand hygiene. The management team will also be monitoring staff and diners to ensure everyone stays safe.
Changes to the layout – Depending on what the situation is like when we open, you may find the restaurant looks a little different than you remember. Tables may be further apart, staff have more room to manoeuvre and we don’t serve as many covers at once as we used to. Much will depend on the guidance at the time but we will probably be adjusting the layout a little to ensure better spacing.
Staff wearing PPE – You will notice all staff wearing masks of one kind or another. Even if we are vaccinated at the time, it’s an inevitable cost of being able to reopen. We have provided all staff with high quality PPE to wear for every shift and we will continue to wear it for as long as necessary to keep everyone safe.
We are greatly looking forward to reopening in May if all goes well. It has been a long time coming and we have missed meeting and greeting customers as well as serving our delicious steaks on a stone.
